The School of Rock Metro DC House Band braved the cold morning of November 23rd, 2013 to play music on the reflecting pool steps at the Lincoln Memorial on the Washington, DC mall. The performance was in support of the St. Jude Give thanks. Walk. charity walk to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In support of the St. Jude Washington community and 75 cities nationwide we came together in a single day to help St. Jude change the way the world treats childhood cancer. We support events of this type pro bono as part of our commitment to be part of our communities and use the power of music to do good. In particular we love to support the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital because:
- Thanks to committed fundraisers, no family ever pays St. Jude for anything.
- They speed their research discoveries directly from the labs to the bedside of patients and to doctors and scientists everywhere.
- One child saved at St. Jude means thousands more saved worldwide.
