Dani Morris Originally a Guatemala native, Dani has been singing for as long as she can remember. Her favorite pastime growing up, much to her outdoorsy cousins’ dismay, was playing “singers” and practicing harmonies nonstop. She started seriously studying music in high school at which time she participated in the Treble and Chamber Choirs, marching band, musical theatre (including the Columbia Center for Theatrical Arts Summer Program with Toby Orenstein), the Montgomery County Youth Choir (MCYC) and the Maryland All-State Women’s Choir. Dani went on to study classical voice performance with Dr. Molly Donnelly at Montgomery College where she gained valuable performing experience singing with the World Music Ensemble and Latin Band and the Metropolitan Orchestra. During this time she also sang withThe National Philharmonic Chorale and Chamber Singers. Since then, Dani has enjoyed the musical ride. She enjoys dabbling in different styles ranging from classical to reggae to rock and roll and has sung with Grammy-Award winning producer Larry Mitchell as well as Grammy-Award nominated artists Dawn Avery and Alfredo Muro.
She placed second in NBC’s televised Be A Voice VIP contest and has won WAMA Awards with DC reggae band Lucky Dub for Best Reggae Vocals and Best Reggae Album. She now enjoys spending her time regularly rocking out with Tesla’s Cat, and believes that all the world’s a stage for which practice makes perfect.
